record for the American Songbook compilation

American Songbook, from the makers of Volume, is beautifully packaged and includes not only a CD packed with rare and exclusive tracks but also a fantastic 120-page guide crammed with features and photos.

Volume says: This is an album of American roots music, be it country, bluegrass, hillbilly, folk, gospel or good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll, American Songbook addresses all of these musical strands and more; exploring the links between different traditional musics (Kathy Mattea, Maura O'Connell), the continued crossover between rock and country (Golden Smog, The V-roys), and the persistence of old-time values (Freakwater, BR5-49).

The only way to really find out what American Songbook is about is through the artists. Listen to the CD, read the book. The V-roys contribute "What She Found". Others you'll find on the American Songbook CD include:
